Curve Biosciences reports AI blood test results for very early liver cancer
Published in Artificial Intelligence, Tools.
On October 5, 2026, Curve Biosciences announced results for its Whole-Body Blood Test in patients at high risk of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). The company’s approach combines DNA methylation and protein biomarkers with its Whole-Body Intelligence AI models.
Curve reported sensitivity of 77.8% for very early-stage HCC, defined in the announcement as tumors smaller than 2 cm, and specificity of 81.5%. It also reported 82.6% sensitivity for early-stage HCC under Milan criteria. These are company-reported performance estimates, rather than proof that testing improves survival.
The announcement refers to a 1,482-patient study. Additional data are scheduled for presentation at AASLD’s Liver Meeting in Denver on November 5–9, 2026, and the company says a journal submission is being prepared.
The findings warrant scrutiny of the full study methods, patient selection and independent validation when available. The release does not establish the test as a replacement for standard surveillance or report an FDA authorization for this use.
