NanoViricides has provided an update on its Phase II trial of investigational NV-387 oral gummies for Ebola virus disease in the Democratic Republic of Congo. The company says Phase IIA enrollment began on or around September 23, 2026.

The first stage is intended to identify a tolerable dosing regimen, including dose amount, frequency and duration. According to the company, enrollment is proceeding cautiously because NV-387 is a new chemical entity.

The Phase IIA stage is not designed to establish efficacy statistically. It serves as a decision point before a planned expanded, randomized controlled Phase IIB evaluation using the selected regimen.

NV-387 is being developed through the company’s host-mimetic nanomedicine platform. The oral formulation is designed to dissolve in the mouth.

This company update reports trial design and enrollment, rather than demonstrated antiviral efficacy or patient recovery. Safety, clinical benefit and regulatory approval remain to be established.
