Stryker Launches Mako 4 Robotic-Assisted Joint Replacement Platform in India

Published in Personalized medicine, Scanners and Imaging, Tools.

Stryker announced on October 5, 2026 the Indian launch of Mako 4 SmartRobotics, the fourth generation of its robotic-arm-assisted joint replacement platform.

The system combines patient-specific three-dimensional CT planning with AccuStop haptic guidance. Stryker lists applications for total knee, partial knee and total hip replacement, including advanced primary and revision hip procedures.

The platform is designed to help surgeons plan procedures around individual anatomy and receive guidance during surgery. The announcement concerns regional availability of a surgeon-operated medical tool.

The release cites earlier research on Mako-assisted procedures, but does not present a new comparative clinical trial specific to this Indian launch. Claims about precision or outcomes should therefore be read in the context of the cited studies, rather than assumed to establish superiority for every patient or procedure.
