Agilent expands oligonucleotide process development with Boulder laboratory — October 6, 2026

October 6, 2026 — Agilent announced on October 5 that it is adding laboratory space in Boulder, Colorado, to develop and scale manufacturing technologies for oligonucleotide therapeutics, initially focusing on enzymatic ligation.
Enzymatic ligation joins shorter oligonucleotide fragments into longer therapeutic molecules. Agilent is evaluating it alongside established solid-phase phosphoramidite synthesis, with the aim of offering manufacturing options suited to different program scales and technical requirements.
The laboratory will complement the company’s Colorado oligonucleotide operations and manufacturing capabilities in Canada. Agilent’s Advanced Therapeutics Division provides development and current good manufacturing practice manufacturing services for modalities including siRNA and antisense oligonucleotides.
Initial customer programs are expected to begin in November 2026, subject to operational and regulatory requirements. The announcement does not quantify additional production capacity, demonstrate lower manufacturing costs or establish the clinical effectiveness of any therapy. It describes an expansion of process-development infrastructure rather than a new approved medicine.
