BlueWhale Bio announced the launch of Synecta T1 Enhanced, a grade of its cell-derived nanoparticle platform intended to support clinical-stage cell-therapy development. The company says supporting quality documentation is filed in its FDA Drug Master File.
Synecta is used during immune-cell manufacturing. BlueWhale reported preliminary follow-up from four patients with refractory lymphoma or leukemia who received Synecta-manufactured huCART19-IL18 cells: all had measurable CAR-T exposure at day 100, and three achieved durable complete responses. The company also described longer persistence than in a prior, four-patient dose-matched cohort manufactured using conventional bead activation.
These very small, non-randomized cohorts cannot establish that Synecta caused better outcomes or that the approach is superior to existing manufacturing methods. Drug Master File documentation is not approval of a CAR-T treatment. The company also announced distribution partnerships with MineBio in China and Tebubio in Europe.
