Epcoritamab Plus R-CHOP Improves Progression-Free Survival in Phase 3 Lymphoma Trial

Published in Drugs development & discovery, Immunology.

October 6, 2026

Genmab and AbbVie announced positive topline results on October 5 from EPCORE DLBCL-2, a randomized, open-label phase 3 trial in newly diagnosed diffuse large B-cell lymphoma.

The trial compared a fixed-duration epcoritamab-based regimen with a control regimen built around R-CHOP chemotherapy. In the overall population with International Prognostic Index scores of 2–5, the reported hazard ratio for disease progression or death was 0.49 (95% confidence interval 0.36–0.67; p<0.0001). The primary endpoint population, with scores of 3–5, also met its progression-free survival endpoint.

The 51% figure represents a relative reduction in the hazard of progression or death. It is not a 51-percentage-point improvement in survival and does not establish an overall survival benefit.

The companies described safety as consistent with the individual agents’ known profiles and plan to present detailed data at a future medical meeting. Epcoritamab plus R-CHOP remains an investigational combination without regulatory approval; the sponsors intend to discuss next steps with regulators.
