Fujifilm plans Hirono linker-payload equipment for integrated ADC manufacturing

Published in Drugs development & discovery, Tools.

Publication date: October 6, 2026.

Fujifilm announced today that it will install equipment for antibody-drug conjugate linker-payload manufacturing at its Hirono plant in Fukushima, Japan. The new equipment is scheduled to begin operating in 2028.

The project expands the plant’s existing linker services to include linker-payload process development and manufacturing. Planned additions include reaction vessels, filtration and drying equipment, preparative HPLC, and laboratories for process and analytical method development. The company also plans stronger containment for highly potent substances.

Hirono will supply linker-payload capabilities alongside a Fujifilm Toyama Chemical facility scheduled to begin operations in 2027 for antibody manufacturing, conjugation and finished drug product production. Fujifilm presents the combination as a way to simplify coordination across ADC manufacturing stages.

This is a planned manufacturing expansion. It does not establish a new ADC’s clinical efficacy or announce immediate availability of the new Hirono capacity.
