Kairos reports interim ENV-105 prostate cancer results and changes phase 2 protocol

Kairos Pharma reported an interim phase 2 signal for ENV-105, or carotuximab, combined with apalutamide in metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer. The company reports median progression-free survival of 17.7 months with the combination versus 2 months with apalutamide alone, with P=0.0008.
The release does not disclose group sizes or confidence intervals, limiting assessment of the estimate’s precision. These are interim company-reported results, not a completed confirmatory trial or evidence of an overall survival benefit.
Kairos also changed the protocol to enroll patients earlier, after a PSA increase following initial androgen signaling inhibitor treatment. The revised comparison will randomize patients to enzalutamide with or without ENV-105. Those future results will concern a different treatment combination from the interim apalutamide comparison.
ENV-105 targets CD105 in a strategy intended to address drug resistance. The company targets trial completion in or before the fourth quarter of 2027.
