October 6, 2026 — QIAGEN announced IPA Investigator and an expanded QIAGEN Discovery Platform, adding artificial intelligence tools for interpreting biological data and supporting drug discovery.
IPA Investigator is a research companion within Ingenuity Pathway Analysis. Scientists can ask questions in natural language, explore biological relationships, receive suggested analyses and run them within IPA. The company emphasizes connections between experimental datasets and expert-curated biomedical knowledge, with evidence available for researchers to inspect.
The Discovery Platform combines molecular data and QIAGEN’s knowledge base with AI to support target and biomarker identification, hypothesis generation and automation of discovery tasks.
The announcement includes a University of Bergen researcher’s account of testing misleading sample comparisons: the tool reportedly identified the issue and recommended a better design. This example is a testimonial, not a published comparative accuracy benchmark. The announcement does not demonstrate improved clinical outcomes or successful development of a new treatment.
