Rani Therapeutics announced that its RaniPill capsule platform has been accepted into the U.S. Food and Drug Administration’s Emerging Technology Program. The investigational platform aims to deliver biologic medicines orally, potentially replacing injections or infusions for selected products.

The program supports discussion of novel pharmaceutical design and manufacturing approaches with the FDA’s Emerging Technology Team. Rani expects early engagement on technical and regulatory questions, potentially including pre-submission meetings and site visits. Discussions can cover the platform itself rather than only individual drug candidates.

Rani also plans to automate its manufacturing process. Acceptance into this program is a development and manufacturing milestone, not marketing approval for RaniPill or any associated medicine. The announcement does not report new clinical efficacy results.
