Sightview Announces AI Scribe and Insurance Verification Tools for Eyecare
Published in Artificial Intelligence, Tools.
October 6, 2026 — Sightview announced two AI tools integrated into its ophthalmology electronic medical record and practice management platform. The company plans to preview them at AAO 2026 in New Orleans, October 9–12, followed by a phased rollout to existing customers.
Sightview AI Scribe is designed around ophthalmology terminology and provider speech patterns. According to the company, it places documentation into appropriate chart fields and incorporates users’ documentation habits and code sets. Providers retain control over finalized outputs.
AI Vision Verify addresses administrative work: it accesses vision-insurance portals on staff’s behalf to retrieve eligibility and benefit information within the practice workflow. Despite its name, this tool concerns insurance verification rather than analysis of eye images.
The announcement describes intended workflow benefits, including less manual documentation and portal checking. It does not provide independent measurements of time savings, error reduction or improved patient outcomes. Clinical notes still require provider review.
