Thermo Fisher Scientific announced new and expanded drug development capabilities at CPHI Milan. Its OSD Express offering provides a defined approach to oral solid dose development, while Steriles Express Solutions cover early development and later-stage technology transfer.
The company states that eligible sterile programmes could receive Phase I or II clinical material in as little as 20 weeks, or a Phase III GMP batch through technology transfer in as little as 26 weeks. Actual timelines depend on programme parameters and scope.
The update also highlights collaboration with AustinPx on solvent-free KinetiSol technology for poorly soluble drugs, alongside manufacturing and clinical supply investments.
Within its PPD clinical research business, Thermo Fisher reports a 50% aggregate reduction in drafting time for master informed consent forms using generative AI. This is a company-reported operational metric, not evidence of improved patient outcomes.
The announcement describes service capabilities and implementation claims, rather than new therapeutic efficacy findings.
