Alvotech and LOTTE Biologics Partner on US Manufacturing of Antibody Biosimilars

Alvotech and LOTTE Biologics announced a long-term manufacturing agreement on October 6. LOTTE will produce drug substance for several antibody biosimilars at its Syracuse, New York facility for global supply.
According to the announcement, the site has 40,000 liters of bioreactor capacity, alongside process development and quality control capabilities. The companies say it recently completed an unannounced FDA inspection with no observations.
The partnership adds US manufacturing to Alvotech’s existing network of internal facilities and external partners. Alvotech expects the broader network to support demand for its development pipeline over the next decade; that statement is a company projection.
Commercial supply under the agreement still requires successful technology transfer, manufacturing qualification and applicable regulatory approvals. The release does not name the individual biosimilars covered or specify production start dates. It announces a supply partnership rather than approval of a new medicine.
