Cambridge Heartwear reports NHS tender award for HeartSense ECG wearable — October 7, 2026

Published in Artificial Intelligence, Tools.

October 7, 2026 — Cambridge Heartwear announced on October 6 that it had secured a £184 million NHS tender for HeartSense, a reusable wearable combining multichannel electrocardiography, adaptive artificial intelligence and wireless charging.

The company says its NHS Supply Chain arrangement will enable wider cardiac monitoring in primary and secondary care. HeartSense sends ECG information to a mobile phone, with the proposed deployment intended to extend monitoring beyond hospital settings.

According to the manufacturer, the system has UKCA status and FDA 510(k) applications are in progress. The announcement does not establish FDA clearance. Its claims of earlier intervention and reduced pressure on hospitals describe intended benefits rather than results of a comparative clinical trial reported in the release.

The tender value is reported by Cambridge Heartwear; the release does not specify deployment volumes, duration or guaranteed purchasing commitments. The announcement therefore provides a commercialization update, while evidence of diagnostic performance and patient outcomes requires separate evaluation.
