ITOCHU and MOLCURE Form Capital Alliance for AI-Driven Antibody and Peptide Discovery

Published in Artificial Intelligence, Drugs development & discovery, Tools.

Publication date: October 7, 2026.

ITOCHU announced on October 7 that it signed a capital alliance agreement with MOLCURE, a Japanese company developing AI-based discovery technologies for antibodies and peptides.

According to ITOCHU, MOLCURE’s platform combines a proprietary large language model, physical simulations and experimental data generated in its laboratory to design and optimize candidate molecules.

The alliance aims to connect these discovery capabilities with ITOCHU’s pharmaceutical development services and business networks. ITOCHU identifies its wholly owned clinical development subsidiary, A2 Healthcare, as part of its existing research and development support infrastructure.

The proposed support system would span candidate creation, preclinical work and clinical development. The announcement does not disclose an investment amount or demonstrate that the alliance has already produced effective medicines. Improvements in development efficiency remain goals rather than measured outcomes.
