Lantern opens next HARMONIC trial stage in Taiwan for EGFR-mutant lung cancer

Published in Artificial Intelligence, Drugs development & discovery, Personalized medicine.

October 7, 2026 — Lantern Pharma announced Taiwanese regulatory and ethics approvals enabling Part 2 of its Phase 2 HARMONIC study of LP-300 in never-smokers with advanced non-small cell lung cancer.

The Taiwan FDA approved the amended protocol in September, and the lead site’s ethics approval followed on September 29. Lantern says the site is now screening patients. The single-arm stage focuses on tumors carrying the EGFR exon 21 L858R mutation after progression on tyrosine kinase inhibitors.

LP-300 will be studied with carboplatin and pemetrexed for up to eight cycles, increased from six. The company says its RADR AI platform combines molecular biomarkers and clinical outcomes to help identify responsive patient subgroups and guide development.

The announcement concerns permission to continue research, not authorization to market LP-300. Earlier observations came from small exploratory cohorts and require confirmation. A single-arm study also limits direct comparisons with other treatments; LP-300 remains investigational.
