PharmaTher launches program to build a network for 3D-printed medicines

Published in Drugs development & discovery, Personalized medicine, Tools.

October 7, 2026 — Toronto-based PharmaTher announced its M3DICINES National Network Program, intended to establish qualified sites for producing personalized medicines with CraftMake pharmaceutical 3D printers.

The proposed network begins with U.S. 503A compounding pharmacies, with planned expansion to hospitals, contract manufacturers and government facilities. The company targets small-batch needs, including individualized doses, rare diseases, discontinued medicines, supply shortages and emergency preparedness.

PharmaTher describes a model in which qualified local sites use digital manufacturing recipes supported by its platform. The network map is illustrative, and participating nodes require site qualification. The announcement launches a development program; it does not demonstrate a fully deployed national manufacturing network or successful treatment of patients.

Regulatory distinctions remain important: products compounded under the U.S. 503A framework are not FDA-approved medicines. Network expansion, partner agreements and emergency-readiness contracts remain prospective.
