N-Power and NYCBS Partner on Prospective External Control Arms in Oncology

October 8, 2026 — N-Power Medicine and New York Cancer & Blood Specialists announced a partnership to expand prospective external control arms in community oncology, beginning with non-small cell lung cancer.
NYCBS will join the N-Power Network and offer these research programs to its patients. The practice brings more than 90 medical oncologists across over 30 New York locations, according to the announcement.
N-Power’s approach collects data prospectively from patients receiving standard-of-care treatment, using predefined protocols and imaging-based endpoints aligned with clinical trial standards. These datasets are intended to provide external comparison groups for drug-development studies. The company also plans a colorectal cancer program later in 2026.
The partnership aims to make evidence generation more efficient, but the announcement provides no measured reduction in trial duration or new treatment outcomes. Prospective collection improves standardization; by itself, it does not demonstrate that an external comparison eliminates the selection differences between patient groups.
