Vektor Announces Category I CPT Code Approval for Noninvasive Arrhythmia Localization

Published in Noninvasive, Tech News, Tools.

October 8, 2026 — Vektor Medical announced that the American Medical Association’s CPT Editorial Panel approved creation of a Category I code for noninvasive localization of ventricular arrhythmias using standard 12-lead ECG data.

Vektor’s vMap technology uses computational algorithms to generate patient-specific information about arrhythmia source locations. This can support planning and focused mapping before invasive catheter procedures. The company reports that vMap has been used in more than 4,500 procedures across the United States.

The new code is expected to take effect on January 1, 2028. Its final number and descriptor will be released through the AMA’s forthcoming 2028 CPT codebook. It follows the earlier Category III code 0897T, which became effective in July 2024.

Category I status provides a standardized way to report an established medical service. It does not itself determine insurance coverage or payment: these decisions remain subject to payer policies and reimbursement processes. The announcement is a coding milestone and does not present new comparative clinical outcomes.
