Aide Health’s Mirror program offers people living with a rare condition in the United Kingdom two years of free access to an AI consultation note-taking service. Alexion Pharma UK sponsors the offer, while Aide Health operates the service.
Mirror records an in-person medical consultation and produces a plain-English summary. Users can revisit explanations, ask questions about the consultation and share notes with relatives, carers or other clinicians. The program asks users to tell their clinician that the app is being used.
According to Aide Health, consultation audio is deleted once transcription and summary processing are complete. The company says Alexion receives no identifiable user data and describes Mirror as a registered Class I UK medical device. These statements do not demonstrate independent clinical effectiveness or guarantee error-free summaries.
The offer applies to UK residents with a rare condition, defined as affecting fewer than one person in 2,000. After two years, continued access is optional at £9.99 annually, with existing summaries retained if users decline. The program page provides no Canadian eligibility offer.
