SOPHiA and Myriad advance prostate-specific genomic instability testing

October 9, 2026 — SOPHiA GENETICS and Myriad Genetics announced a collaboration on October 8 to advance a prostate cancer-specific genomic instability score, PrGIS, in precision oncology work with AstraZeneca.
Myriad developed the biomarker signature to assess chromosomal instability associated with homologous recombination deficiency. The partnership aims to support clinical-trial patient stratification and potential companion diagnostic development.
Myriad plans to generate PrGIS through MyChoice CDx, a test currently used as an ovarian cancer companion diagnostic, while developing prostate cancer as an additional indication. SOPHiA is working to incorporate PrGIS into a decentralized companion diagnostic based on its Extended Homologous Recombination Solution, allowing testing through local laboratories.
This is a development agreement, not an announcement of an approved prostate companion diagnostic or proven improvement in patient outcomes. Further biomarker research is scheduled for ESMO 2026, with full results to follow the conference embargo.
The collaboration addresses both biomarker validation and laboratory deployment, two separate requirements for translating genomic signatures into treatment-selection tools.
