Quince Becomes IRulya, Focuses on Inhaled Rapamycin for Pulmonary Diseases

Published in Diseases!, Drugs development & discovery, Organisations.

October 10, 2026

Quince Therapeutics announced on October 9 that it has become IRulya Therapeutics, with a focus on developing LAM-001 for pulmonary diseases. The change follows its previously completed merger with Orphai Therapeutics.

LAM-001 is an investigational, once-daily dry-powder formulation of inhaled rapamycin, an mTOR inhibitor. It is designed to increase delivery to the lungs while reducing systemic exposure compared with oral or systemic administration.

The company reports an ongoing Phase 2 trial in bronchiolitis obliterans syndrome after lung transplantation, with results anticipated in the first quarter of 2027. A Phase 2b trial in pulmonary hypertension associated with interstitial lung disease is also ongoing, with data expected in the first quarter of 2028.

IRulya plans a Phase 2 study in sarcoidosis-associated pulmonary hypertension during the fourth quarter of 2026. These schedules are company projections.

The announcement describes corporate and development plans, not new confirmatory efficacy results. LAM-001 remains investigational; its pulmonary program does not establish an anti-aging benefit.
