Haag-Streit announced the global launch of Eyesi Surgical Platform 3.0 in an October 9 product update for AAO 2026 in New Orleans. The virtual-reality training system adds hardware and software for practising ophthalmic surgery in a simulated environment.
According to the manufacturer, two new hand-operated injectors reproduce plunger-based steps used in hydrodissection, viscoelastic delivery and intraocular lens implantation. A shared interface supports training for both anterior and posterior eye segments, with eight corneal incisions for cataract exercises and two pars plana ports for retinal surgery.
The platform also introduces a redesigned operating table, revised foot-switch positioning and a tiltable microscope. These changes aim to incorporate body positioning and ergonomics into surgical practice, alongside technique inside the eye.
Haag-Streit positions the update for trainees and experienced surgeons tackling more complex scenarios. This is a product announcement: it does not present comparative results showing that version 3.0 improves operating-room performance or patient outcomes.
