FDA accepts FYB206 pembrolizumab biosimilar application for review; Canadian dossier also submitted

Formycon and Zydus announced that the FDA has accepted the Biologics License Application for FYB206, their proposed pembrolizumab biosimilar, for review. The dossier was submitted in the third quarter of 2026. A separate submission has also been made to Health Canada.

The companies report that development followed a pathway agreed with the FDA without a comparative phase III efficacy trial. Their evidence package combines analytical and functional comparisons with the Dahlia pharmacokinetic study, whose primary objective was met in February 2026. Those earlier results are background to today’s filing milestone.

Zydus holds commercialization rights in the United States and Canada. The companies estimate that a US decision could occur in the third quarter of 2027; this is an expectation, rather than a guaranteed approval date.

Limits: acceptance for review is not approval. FYB206 remains investigational, and regulators have not established its biosimilarity. Pricing, availability and launch timing remain unresolved; commercialization also depends on regulatory and intellectual-property matters.
