Estrella Immunopharma reported on October 15 that the first patient to receive two EB103 infusions in the STARLIGHT-1 expansion phase had no treatment-related serious adverse events reported during the first month.
Each infusion delivered 5 million T cells per kilogram, with three weeks between doses. EB103 is an investigational ARTEMIS T-cell therapy targeting CD19, being studied in adults with relapsed or refractory B-cell non-Hodgkin lymphoma.
The multicenter, open-label Phase I/II trial is evaluating safety and activity at the recommended Phase II dose. Estrella plans to use expansion-cohort findings to guide a possible pivotal study.
Why caution matters: This update concerns one patient with short follow-up. It cannot establish the safety of repeat dosing, show that two infusions work better than one, or demonstrate superiority over existing treatments. The absence of serious treatment-related events does not mean there were no side effects. Additional patients and longer observation are needed.
